Description
cPanel provides one of the industry's most reliable and intuitive hosting automation software platforms. This position will assist in assessing and improving our core system security. 

Essential Functions:   
  • Creates code specification proposals and prototypes for review by team and stakeholders
  • Develops well designed, testable, and efficient new code and modifies existing code based on stakeholder requirements for cPanel products and systems
  • Documents code in detail for future reference
  • Participates in the use of established development standards and continuously contributes positively to improve the quality of development standards based on data driven decisions
  • Implements test plans and tests based on current cPanel standards and aides in improving the testing standards
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and refactors existing code to optimize performance
  • Collaborates with teams to resolve issues and deliver products of high quality
  • Participates in project demos, presentations and meetings
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

Additional Duties:
  • Receives instruction and feedback from other developers
  • Seeks out and collects local, as well as third party sourced data, to make business appropriate, data driven decisions
  • Advises and mentors other developers in design and implementation processes pertinent to cPanel
  • Operates in both Kanban and Agile/Scrum teams interchangeably without a negative impact to productivity
  • Consistently maintains a full workload without direct oversight
  • Other tasks and duties as deemed necessary
Eligibility Requirements:

Technical skills -
  • 5 year's work experience in vulnerability analysis and remediation
  • Experience with automated and manual vulnerability discovery tools
  • Experience with third party security reviews and risks associated with third party access and data sharing
  • Competent with macOS and security controls for Mac
  • Experience deploying new security solutions
  • Experience writing technology specific best practices
Education/Experience - Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Five years of Linux / BSD / *nix system troubleshooting or a related certification (RHCE)
  • Five years of Perl, PHP, or Python development experience
  • Travel -  Occasional local and/or overnight travel may be required, some by interstate air
