Description

Position Overview:

The VP, Global Human Resources provides leadership in developing and executing Human Resources initiatives in support of overall business plans and the strategic direction of the organization; specifically, in the areas of compensation, benefits, workers’ compensation, HR systems, payroll administration, reporting, mergers & acquisitions, and change management. Duties include educating and providing guidance to global HR management teams to drive strong business decisions as well as developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures that balance employee needs with business objectives and applicable labor and employment laws. The VP, Global Human Resources partners with senior leaders to govern and administer key company programs to ensure compliance and optimal results.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees, leads, and guides the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures which align with company culture and strategic plans, and comply with applicable laws and regulations in areas of responsibility
  • Partners with HR and business leaders to develop business strategies which maximize the impact and success of WebPros policies and practices to meet organizational objectives, drive a high-performance culture, support the pay for performance strategy, mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiencies
  • Partners with senior leaders and a PEO to govern and administer key company programs such as health & welfare, benefits, compensation programs, payroll administration, and HR systems implementation/integration to ensure compliance and optimal results
  • Owns and oversees all aspects of compensation, including salaries and salary ranges, job leveling and analysis, discretionary bonuses, and annual performance bonus program
  • Proactively assesses the effectiveness of compensation practices and benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness. Regularly conducts analysis using available market data to identify changes in practice or philosophy which help the company maintain its competitive edge. Makes proposals to Internal Compensation Committee
  • Provides training and guidance to senior leaders on the full range of WebPros operations including compensation and health & welfare benefit programs
  • Assesses overall performance and cost trends of health and welfare programs; makes recommendations as appropriate and liaises with internal and external legal counsel as needed
  • Oversees and ensures smooth execution of data, reporting and analytics to drive informed decision making
  • Identifies trends within the business and presents data to assist the business leaders in making decisions
  • Ensures consistently accurate compliance with all applicable payroll laws, in collaboration with the PEO payroll administrator
  • Advises business leaders on change management and guides employees accordingly
  • Develops and maintains a strong, interactive relationship with all HR and Legal business partners and provides functional leadership to international HR management to shape strategies and team alignments, including collaborates with HR leadership team to develop strategies, processes, and systems to attract, retain and develop current and future employees and leaders
  • Leads and manages a lean, high performing HR and recruitment team in Houston, Texas, their functions, performance management, career development and department development; Delivers high-functioning HR work product, using appropriate technology, systems and tools, the use of metrics and people data to advise HR and recommend company-impactful benefits, policies, and initiatives
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of HR WebPros operations, policies, and procedures; guides team in developing and implementing standards of service excellence for internal/external HR customers
  • Leads thorough due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions and ensures smooth integration
  • Collaborates with a PEO on Workers Compensation and Employment Practices claims management; partners with the legal team on litigation and settlements
  • Manages strategic vendor relationships and contracts to ensure highest levels of service; makes recommendations for changes as needed
  • Prepares and administers responsibilities relating the departmental budget

Additional Duties

  • Stays abreast of changes in the regulatory environment which could impact the business; proactively identifies areas of concern to help mitigate risk
  • Maintains awareness of HR practices and trends across all industries and geographies in which we operate and may expand into
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education/Experience - 10 – 15 years progressive experience in a variety of HR functional areas with senior level experience in HR, Compensation and Benefits; Experience with HRIS and Payroll; BS/BA degree from an accredited college / university; previous experience presenting to a board of directors preferable. CEBS, CCP, SPHR or SHRM-SCP certifications strongly preferred

Discretion - able to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Travel - Occasional international, local and/or overnight travel may be required, some by interstate air

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Ability to occasionally lift and carry or move up to 20 pounds; Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements
