Release Manager
Title:Release Manager

The Release Manager is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the release of cPanel & WHM, cPAddons, and other software. This position will work closely with development teams, product owners, technical support, company executives, and others to ensure smooth releases by providing organization, scheduling, planning, and necessary tools and services.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and communicates procedures for releasing software to production, including defect prioritization and back port scheduling to ensure software releases are delivered on time, within budget, and are predictable
  • Responsible for building and maintaining the software release calendar for all software released by product development
  • Responsible for releasing cPanel & WHM, cPAddons, and other software
  • Creates measurements of release health and monitors release progress to ensure software releases meet or exceed expectations
  • Manages risk and prioritizes changes required for releasing software, communicates priorities to other teams, and coordinates work needed to release software
  • Coordinate release work across multiple teams
  • Works with various infrastructure teams to continuously improve development pipelines and practices
  • Work closely with various team leaders for planning, managing, and implementation of changes

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years experience as a Release Manager
  • 3-5 years experience with computer programming
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, typical development pipeline tools such as Jenkins, bamboo, and docker
  • Experience with risk assessment and risk management

  • Math skills - able to perform basic Algebra and work with percentages

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds; Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements

  • cPanel is a 24/7 operation and nontraditional or extended hours (including weekends) may be required occasionally
