In this role, the Senior Community Manager will act as the face of cPanel and take an active part in establishing, implementing, and optimizing the social media communication strategy that’s integrated into the cPanel marketing plan. The individual will be responsible for real-time management of the public face of Product Development and the overall cPanel brand. As a leader, the Senior Community Manager will directly shape the customer experience within cPanel’s communities and guide the Community team to continue advocating for the brand anywhere the cPanel community is present. The role will be responsible for actively guiding the team in boosting positive public awareness of the company, the product, and new features, connecting with current and potential community members, and ideating and driving community management improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Executes the functions of a Senior Community Manager proficiently and expertly, including creating content and managing multiple social media channels, such as Slack, Discord, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Forums and any current social media platform used under the Marketing Strategy
  • Creates process documentation for community management workflows
  • Develops a long-term community support strategy, beginning with soft launch and carrying into long-term worldwide growth, reporting achievements, assisting with optimizing efforts, and ensuring that the team understands how to successfully execute the approved strategy
  • Recommends programs to drive growth and healthy engagement, and makes strategic recommendations to internal teams on fostering influencers, moderators, vloggers, and bloggers
  • Builds a strong relationship brand with our most loyal customers and key members of the hosting community, both individuals and companies, to keep them engaged while communicating upcoming features and updates
  • Owns the content creation pipeline that supports product launches, internal and external events, community training, guides, videos, and live streams across all social channels; leads the execution of such efforts and reports the outcome of each
  • Measures and analyzes inbound community sentiment in all social presences and blogs, using qualitative and quantitative data and sharing insights with the core marketing and product team in a weekly report
  • Be the central source of information for community members providing daily guidance and feedback
  • Works extensively with Product Owners and other Internal Stakeholders to convey information back and forth, with the cPanel Community at large, to create branding campaigns, curated discussion posts, and engagement opportunities, including Product Development Release announcements, EasyApache announcements, the Developer Newsletter, and all needed communication stated by the team
  • Utilizes knowledge of SEO and Blog best practices for content creation to drive results
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

Ad-Hoc Duties:

  • Continually familiarizes oneself with updates in the industry and the cPanel & WHM software
  • Maintains a core daily onsite schedule as set by the Social Media Engagement Manager
  • Assists the Social Media Engagement Manager in mentoring and guiding new members of the Community team
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of college and work experience 
  • 5+ years of community management experience, preferably in a technical field
  • 5+ years ability to analyze and interpret social media data to drive community engagement and growth
  • 5+ years content conceptualization and creation experience
  • Proficient in SEO strategies and blog post creation
  • Proven track record in utilizing social media channels to build and maintain a community such as Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Discord, Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, and blogs
  • Demonstrable history of adapting to changes in the social media technology landscape
  • cPanel product experience, or cPanel & WHM University Certification a plus

  • Time Management- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize and use time effectively in an unsupervised fashion, pursuing other activities when regular duties have reduced volume; able to complete projects in a timely manner and ability to manage work time in such a way that ensures the accomplishment of specific objectives; sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity all while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Written Communications- Superior written communication skills required; able to communicate effectively in all written work, utilizing proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Oral Communication- Superior and advanced oral communication skills required; to speak clearly and effectively in positive or negative situations with employees, customers, and community members at large, in one-on-one or in group settings
  • Research Skills- Able to gather data, facts, and impressions from a variety of sources about prospective and current customers; classifying and organizing information for use in decision-making and monitoring
  • Social Media Skills- Advanced to superior skills and familiarity with multiple social networking platforms. Advanced knowledge of WordPress, Twitter, and Facebook for business, social media brand management, and the ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
  • Problem Solving Skills- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully; able to apply independent judgment on a regular basis when making decisions
  • Team Player- Proactively collaborates within the Community and Marketing Departments and with cross-functional teams in a results-driven, team-oriented environment; able to get along with others effectively in a highly collaborative environment
  • Attention to Detail- Able to accomplish a task with concern for all the areas involved, carefully monitoring the detail and quality of own work, able to pay close attention to multiple channels of information at the same time
  • Results Driven- Expected to consistently follow through on assignments in order to achieve company and departmental goals
  • Self-motivating- Must be proactive in staying up-to-date on current trends in both web hosting and marketing, while maintaining a high level of continuous development and self-learning
  • Conflict resolution- Able to bring disagreements into the open and attempts to manage them collaboratively while providing and receiving constructive feedback
  • Adaptability- Extremely comfortable at adapting to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Travel- Occasional-to-frequent travel required, including some interstate and international travel by air

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements

  • cPanel is a 24/7 operation and nontraditional or extended hours (including weekends) may be required occasionally
