Position Overview: 
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for developing and leading the software quality assurance efforts at WHMCS. They are responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of the WHMCS product throughout the entire software development lifecycle, as well as developing and monitoring KPIs to communicate overall health of the product and QA department. This role will help guide WHMCS on a transformation towards dedicated quality assurance with a heavy focus on automated testing, tooling and library development, as well as designing, implementing, and improving QA standards and processes.


Essential Functions:  
  • Tracks life cycle of features, identifies areas of improvement, and defects through product deployment
  • Actively monitors public and internal reports filed by customers that indicate how the product is being used and how they perceive product quality
  • Contributes to Quality Assurance policies and procedures
  • Designs, develops, and maintains departmental test suites
  • Effectively and timely communicates all quality issues to Senior Management and Development, acts as information channel between Technical Support and Development Departments
  • Applies testing skills to all stages of the development lifecycle to ensure quality planning, execution, and outcome
  • Reports defects and advocates for fixes and improvements
  • Assists in guiding and unifying our QA efforts by establishing and refining QA standards in a leadership capacity
  • Creates, modifies, and improves automated tests, libraries, and tooling to support team and department work
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

Eligibility Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Certification (Test Engineer) or equivalent experience
  • Mastery of Quality Assurance concepts and methods
  • Mastery of Git, bug tracking, troubleshooting, and Linux command line usage
  • Mastery of automated test development and maintenance
  • Mastery of test automation infrastructure, tooling, and library development
  • Mastery of PHP, JavaScript

Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Ability to occasionally lift and carry or move up to 20 pounds; Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements
