Position Overview:

The Group Product Manager is responsible for leading the product team members, comprised of product owners and product managers, managing day-to-day activities, and ensuring high-quality product releases and launches in an Agile environment. The role advocates for our products, department, and its members. Responsible for performance management, department improvements, and skills development, the Group Product Manager provides leadership excellence for 10+ employees.

 

Essential Functions

· Oversees a product team in creating quality products and product strategy

· Responsible for oversight of effective product management standards, practices, and processes through all stages of a product life cycle

· Collaborate with the product team to define timely, achievable, and measurable goals

· Effectively manage and radiate the bilateral communication between executive leadership’s strategic product direction and the product team’s product plans to achieve product goals

· Effectively radiate the product team’s learnings in market, customer, and industry trends to executive leadership to inform and affect strategic direction

· Collaborate with other departments and executive leadership to ensure timely and effective communication with external stakeholders, including cPanel customers, partners, and users

· Collaborate with other departments and executive leadership to achieve strategic goals

· Responsible for periodic market competitive analysis

· Track and manage product team productivity tools

· Ensures the product team creates launches have go-to-market plans and materials, and keeps roadmaps and other communication materials updated

· Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

· Performance management including coaching, counseling, mentoring, tracking of performance, and providing effective performance evaluations utilizing Culture Amp to build a feedback culture to drive employee performance and growth

· Assists direct reports in developing new skills and enhancing current skill sets

· Proactively seeks to improve department under supervision providing employees specific goals, objectives, and guidance on how to achieve them

· Responsible for developing department budgets, forecasting financial needs, staying within budget parameters as set by CTO, and meeting company financial objectives

· Timely follow-through on communication internally and externally

· Displays ongoing empathy and appreciation to employees

· Earns the confidence of the department by understanding the needs of the employee and department

· Provides a safe place for employees to express themselves

· Maintains the ability to autonomously handle employee issues while regularly collaborating with HR and other executives and managers

Qualifications

· Strong Communication and Presentation Skills - advanced level of experience and knowledge presenting interdepartmentally and to various levels of management; highly effective oral and communication skills, checking for understanding; able to communicate effectively in all written work, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation

· Business Acumen - Strong analytic skills, advanced knowledge of product strategy, product management, SDLC, product road mapping, software launches, and collaboration with Company Leadership and other high profile stakeholders

· Teamwork skills - able to collaborate effectively as part of a team

· Time Management - Able to manage work time in such a manner that ensures the accomplishment of specific objectives; sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity all while working in a fast-paced environment

· Adaptability - able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

· Technical Skills

· Familiarity with software development lifecycle management

· Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

· 4+ years of experience in a product development or product management role

· 2+ years of management experience focused on teams

· Software development lifecycle management

· Experience with Agile practices and frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban

· Travel - Local and/or overnight travel, some by interstate air, may be required

 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to work in an office environment. Specific abilities required by this job include: Ability to occasionally move up to 20 pounds; Near vision; hearing; ability to transport oneself as needed throughout the day; ability to sit and use computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time; manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination); repetitive arm/hand movements
