The Software Developer II is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal and external software products using an advanced knowledge of Perl and good working knowledge of Linux.


These are the essential duties for which you'll be responsible for:

 

  • Creates code specification proposals and prototypes for review by team and stakeholders
  • Develops well designed, testable, and efficient new code and modifies existing code based on stakeholder requirements for WebPros products and systems
  • Documents code in detail for future reference
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and refactors existing code to perform for effectiveness, efficiency, and usability
  • Participates in the use of established development standards and continuously contributes positively to improve the quality of development standards based on data driven decisions
  • Implements test plans and tests based on current cPanel standards and aides in improving the testing standards
  • Collaborates with teams to resolve issues and deliver products of high quality
  • Participates in project demos, presentations, and meetings
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

        Additional Duties:

  • Receives instruction and feedback from other developers
  • Seeks out and collects local, as well as third party sourced data, to make business appropriate, data driven decisions
  • Advises and mentors other developers in design and implementation processes pertinent to cPanel
  • Effectively work in an Agile/Scrum teams Environment
  • Consistently maintains a full workload without direct oversight
  • Other tasks and duties as deemed necessary

These are the skills, requirements, and experience we require:

        
        
Education/Experience 

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Three years of Node.js, Java Script development experience

        Technical skills 
  • Programming Experience with Web Development framework such as Vue.js or React, Node.js, Java Script. Knowledge of Perl is a plus  
  • Development tool expertise with Git; Linux command line and shell; unit testing; bug tracking & workflows; IDEs
  • Expertise in two or more of the following: Unit testing; database access; Web Servers (apache, LiteSpeed, nginx); SQL Servers (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc
  • Able to perform effective code reviews
  • Experience with multiple programming languages
  • Ability to operate effectively in Agile/Scrum team environment

  • Travel - Occasional local and/or overnight travel may be required
