PRODUCT OWNER

The Product Owner I is the single person responsible for effectively managing the development of new software features. They focus the team to work on issues that maximize the return on investment. The person in this role will champion the product, facilitate decisions, and has the final say on releasable projects. 


These are the essential duties required of the position
  • Participates in defining project vision with the Development Program Director; communicates this vision with the development team
  • Coordinates communication between the development team and stakeholders regarding goals, requirements and business need
  • Works with Director of SDI to determine on which project(s) the team should be working
  • Assesses the business value of feature requests, product, and technical requirements; prioritizes work according to the value assessment
  • Creates, grooms, and prioritizes backlogs
  • Arbitrator of project requirement questions
  • Ensures Development Team works to achieve a potentially shippable product at end of the sprint; decides whether to ship or continue development with the help of the Director of SDI
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

  • Results Oriented - has a concern for achieving or surpassing results against an internal or external standard or objective
  • Interpersonal skills - able to get along with others effectively
  • Conflict resolution - able to bring disagreements into the open and attempts to manage them collaboratively
  • Travel - Occasional overnight travel 

Eligibility Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience within an Agile environment required
  • Must have familiarity with LAMP
  • Must have some experience and familiarity with business acumen
