Description

The Technical Sales Engineer is expected to engage customers/Partners and new sales opportunities on both a highly knowledgeable technical level and by demonstrating exceptional customer service qualities and skills. 

This position is responsible for being a subject matter expert on the cPanel & WHM software by delivering technical specifications and managing inbound technical sales inquiries to our help desk, and providing customers/Partners and internal staff with accurate and helpful technical information on the cPanel & WHM product. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting cPanel customers in all aspects of licensing, customer service and other account related tasks.

This position requires a self-starting individual that will be prepared to apply their former knowledge in technical products, and has the ability to articulate this to both employees and customers.

Essential Functions:
  • Answers technical customer inquiries through tickets, phone, and live chat
  • Creates and delivers technical information on new products/services to customers and team members
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service qualities and skills, while displaying company core values
  • Assists customers within the scope of outlined customer service duties
  • Creates internal technical articles and documentation
  • Liaisons with Account Management as a technical resource for Partners
  • Tracks requested features and product trends to be shared with Development for potential integration
  • Participates in team projects and meetings using Scrum/Agile*
  • Previous Scrum experience not required, training is provided

Communication Skills

Advanced Written Communication Skills - Superior written communication skills required; able to communicate effectively in all written work, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation with heavy attention to detail

Customer Service Experience- Advanced experience with delivering courteous, professional, and patient assistance to a wide range of customers who have a variation of communication methods and potential challenges


Education and Computer Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of customer service experience and/or general office administration experience
  • 1 year experience with the cPanel & WHM software and related technologies/software, and/or technical background
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills
  • Advanced Internet and research skills, proficient use of iWorks software and other Apple Products
  • Keyboarding/typing/data entry skills of 45-50 words per minute

Travel - Occasional local and/or overnight travel, some by air, specific to training courses or company conferences may be required

  • Ability to stand for periods of time, bend or walk short distances
