Our QA experts root out and analyze bugs in our software. Our QA department is as passionate about ensuring our software is functional and reliable the same way most people are passionate about their most beloved sports team or favorite band.
 

Here's what the role entails

  Perform Testing

  • Develop and establish manual and automated test and test strategies for current and future product versions, which includes, but is not limited to, functional, stress and load testing
  • Identify, report and track regressions
  • Analyze testing results, report defects, identify and report root causes for test failures by working with the development team
  • Verify functionality, deficient or otherwise, as reported by customers and other department personnel
  • Assist developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems
  • Create and maintain personal and shared test environments
  • Conduct Test Case reviews to ensure testing scenarios accurately capture, isolate, execute and report results for the specified functionality
  Assigned Projects
  • Provide regular status reports to management and project leaders, updating tasks and tasks estimates, as necessary
  • Manage personal tasks according to prescribed project priorities

  Knowledge Acquisition and Dissemination 
  • Provide accurate and timely information to interdepartmental staff to facilitate documentation processes
  • Work with documentation and marketing staff to ensure quality of public documentation
  • Research test requirements using product documentation or outside resources
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential concerns within the product

  • Leadership Skills - able to lead by example; able to provide coaching and mentoring to other team members
  • Project Management Skills - able to take ownership of assigned projects from beginning to end
  • Adaptability - able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Research Skills - able to conduct independent research using a variety of methods, and ask questions about unfamiliar concepts
  • Math skills - able to perform basic Algebra and work with percentages
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills - able to identify problems and subsequently gather and analyze information skillfully in order to make sound decisions
  • Teamwork skills - able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Technical skills
    • Mastery of Linux or other *nix based operating systems
    • Familiarity with common web hosting services (Apache, Exim, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, etc.)
    • Familiarity with Unix based tools and sub-systems (Sed, Awk, Strace, Syslog, Bash, Mysql, Postgres, SSH, FTP, etc.)
    • Familiarity with common securities concept as applicable to web hosting and *nix OS platforms
    • Experience with common scripting languages and programming languages, such as Perl, PHP, C, C++, etc.
    • Experience with common virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, OpenVZ, etc.)
    • Experience with Quality Assurance concepts and methods
  • Education/Experience - High School diploma or equivalent
    • Experience with Linux / *nix operating system troubleshooting, system administration, competent in a scripting language or programming language
    • Exposure to quality assurance methods
    • Experience working in web hosting environment
