Our QA experts root out and analyze bugs in our software. Our QA department is as passionate about ensuring our software is functional and reliable the same way most people are passionate about their most beloved sports team or favorite band.
 

Here's what the role entails

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops testing strategies and provides testing direction for QA analysts
  • Tracks life cycle of features and fixes throughout product development, disseminating information as it becomes available
  • Monitors public and internal data that indicate product quality and how the product is being used by the customer
  • Contributes feedback on departmental processes and how they can be improved
  • Contributes to company and department documentation efforts
  • Research new and existing technologies that may assist with the QA effort
  • Maintains departmental infrastructure
  • Contributes to administrative and counseling tasks
  • Constantly learning new relevant skills; attends training, researches and learns new technologies proactively.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meetings with department, interdepartmental staff, and company executives covering product quality, design, and implementation details
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

  • Leadership Skills - ability to guide and direct a team of 10-25 people.  Able to Delegate work and follow through on it.  Able to provide coaching and mentoring to other team members.  Strong decision making skills
  • Project Management Skills - able to take ownership of assigned projects from beginning to end
  • Adaptability - able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Research Skills - able to conduct independent research using a variety of methods, and ask questions about unfamiliar concepts
  • Math skills - able to perform basic Algebra and work with percentages
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills - able to identify problems and subsequently gather and analyze information skillfully in order to make sound decisions
  • Teamwork skills -facilitate team operations through the sharing of information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, and develop recommendations for problem‐solving
  • Technical skills
    • Mastery of Linux or other *nix based operating systems
    • Deep knowledge and troubleshooting experience with the cPanel & WHM product
    • Familiarity with common web hosting services (Apache, Exim, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, etc.)
    • Familiarity with Unix based tools and sub-systems (Sed, Awk, Strace, Syslog, Bash, Mysql, Postgres, SSH, FTP, etc.)
    • Familiarity with common security concepts as applicable to web hosting and *nix OS platforms
    • Strong ability with Perl.
    • Familiarity with Selenium and Test::More
    • Experience with common virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, OpenVZ, etc.)
    • In depth knowledge of Quality Assurance concepts and methods
       
  • Education/Experience
    • High School diploma or equivalent
